PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Jan. 6, 2014) - CSU-Pueblo finished ranked in the top ten for the third straight season by D2Football.com, earning a ranking of 9th to close the season, D2Football.com announced Monday.
The ranking comes on the heels of the ThunderWolves' final national ranking of 7th in the American Football Coaches' Association (AFCA) Coaches' Poll, which was handed down in December.
CSU-Pueblo, which finished the 2013 season with an 11-1 mark, losing 34-30 in the second round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs to eventual national semifinalist, Grand Valley State (Mich.), turned in its third straight 11-0 regular season, marking just the second time in Division II history that a team has recorded three consecutive 11-0 regular seasons.
The ThunderWolves won its third straight outright Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship in 2013, finished in the top ten nationally in total offense, sacks, and net punting, and will enter 2014 with a 37-game regular season winning streak, the second-longest in Division II history.
