DENVER, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - March 1, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo shot just 23 percent from the field Friday as it again endured a cold-shooting night, losing 42-32 to Metro State.
Despite being spotted an 8-0 lead, holding the Roadrunners scoreless for the first seven minutes of the game, CSU-Pueblo was outscored 42-24 for the remainder of the game. Metro State responded to the early CSU-Pueblo advantage by rattling off nine points in just three minutes to up 9-8, part of an 18-4 run toward the end of the first half.
After trailing 18-17 at halftime, CSU-Pueblo saw Metro State go on a 15-4 run to open the second half, making for a 33-21 Roadrunner lead that the ThunderWolves couldn't recover from.
Only one ThunderWolf, Laurel Kearsley (Sr., Victor, Idaho), scored more than five points, going for a double-double in a 14-point, 11-rebound performance.
The loss effectively ends the ThunderWolves' chances to host a home playoff game as the RMAC Tournament gets underway Tuesday. It will finish the regular season Saturday at Regis.
