ALAMOSA, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Dec. 6, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo won its fifth straight over Adams State Friday night, opening its RMAC slate with a 33-point win on the road over the Grizzlies.
CSU-Pueblo dominated from the outset, jumping out to a 13-0 lead and holding the Grizzlies without a single point for the first seven minutes of the game.
Adams State would only get as close as seven points after the beginning onslaught, and the ThunderWolves carried a 34-22 lead into halftime. Adams State would get as close as seven points as the second half began, but the Pack turned it on by using an 18-3 run over a nearly nine minute span to build a lead of greater than 20 and go into cruise control en route to the 77-44 victory.
The Pack used a stellar performance from three-point land, shooting 44 percent from beyond the arc and nailing 11 three-pointers. Overall, the ThunderWolves shot 48 percent from the field, compared to just 31 percent by the Grizzlies.
Five ThunderWolves scored in double figures in a well-distributed effort, led by 15 points from Katie Nehf (Jr., Broomfield, Colo.) and 14 points from Dee Arrieta (So., Pueblo West, Colo.). Taylor Fox (Sr., Santa Cruz, Calif.) was within a point and a rebound of her third double-double of the season, recording nine points and nine rebounds in the winning effort.
CSU-Pueblo, now at 4-3 on the season, will travel to Durango Saturday to take on Fort Lewis.
