Kearsley's career game lifts ThunderWolves

CHADRON, Neb. (GoThunderWolves.com - Jan. 25, 2013) - Led by a career-high 30 points from Laurel Kearsley (Sr., Victor, Idaho), CSU-Pueblo cruised to a 79-60 win over Chadron State Friday night.

Kearsley recorded her seventh double-double of the season as she turned in perhaps the best game of her collegiate career.  In addition to the 30-point night, marking the second time this season a ThunderWolf has scored 30 or more, joining Erica Hicks (Sr., Lakewood, Colo.), she was an unstoppable 14-for-18 from the field while taking down 10 rebounds.  The 10-board effort allows her to maintain her RMAC-best rebounding average of 10.0 RPG, as well.

Lost in the shadow of Kearsley's night was the game turned in by Paige Ramm (Jr., Prescott, Ariz.).  After battling injuries to start the season, Ramm scored a season-high 17 points, sinking a pair of threes and adding five assists.

The duo headlined a Pack effort that saw the team never trail, beginning with a dominant 14-0 surge to start the game.  Kearsley and Ramm accounted for 12 of those first 14 points as the Eagles only got as close as nine points.

With the win, CSU-Pueblo improves to 12-4 and 9-3 in conference play, and combined with a loss Friday by Metro State to conference-leading Colorado Mesa, CSU-Pueblo is now in a three-way tie for second place in the RMAC standings.  CSU-Pueblo now will travel overnight to Spearfish, S.D. for its first ever road showdown at Black Hills State.
