PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 24, 2012) - The CSU-Pueblo women's basketball team used a strong second half surge to outlast Colorado Mines 69-61 Friday night. The Pack played strong defensively down the stretch to pull away from the Orediggers.

The Orediggers, needing a win to keep its playoff hopes alive, didn't go out quietly as they used a strong inside presence to out-rebound the Pack 50-42. Colorado Mines collected 18 offensive rebounds, which accounted for 17 second chance points.

The Pack got a huge effort from Laurel Kearsley (Jr., Victor, Idaho), who gave fits to the Orediggers all game en route to a double-double. Kearsley scored a game-high 27 points while collecting 10 rebounds to claim her seventh double-double of the season.

Kendall Babler (Sr., Rifle, Colo.) was also instrumental in the win, finishing with 16 points after being held to two points in the first half. Babler and Kearsley were huge down the stretch, scoring 12 of the team's 14 points in the last 7:53 of the game.

The Orediggers got solid contributions from Angie Charchalis, who scored a team-high 18 points. Altogether, four players for Colorado Mines scored in double digits.
