GOLDEN, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 4, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo continued its RMAC struggles Thursday, falling in three sets to 15th-ranked Colorado School of Mines.
The ThunderWolves dropped its third straight match and eighth straight set as Mines prevailed 25-13, 25-20, 25-13.
The Pack simply had trouble getting its offense going as it hit only .091 in the match, committing a total of 30 errors (18 attack errors, four service errors, six reception errors, two blocking errors) compared to just 20 by Mines. The Orediggers hit a solid .308 as the Pack defense could do little to stop it.
The ThunderWolves' best chance to win a set came in the second set, when it was playing back and forth with the Orediggers until the set became tied at 19-19. At that point, Mines rattled off five of the next six points to win the set 25-20.
The daze hung around the Pack as it never again secured a lead, falling 25-13 in the final set.
The loss drops the Pack to 11-7 overall and 2-5 in RMAC play. CSU-Pueblo will attempt to snag a win Saturday when it travels to Lakewood to take on Colorado Christian.
