ThunderWolves fall to Black Hills State

SPEARFISH, S.D. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 19, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo dropped the final two sets Friday as it fell in five to Black Hills State, losing 23-25, 28-26, 15-25, 25-18, 15-8.

CSU-Pueblo hung tough in the first set, sending the set to game point, 24-21, and allowing the Yellow Jackets to threaten before closing things out 25-23.

In the second set, CSU-Pueblo nearly wrested momentum as it erased a 23-20 deficit when it scored five out of six points to go up 25-24 and play to game point.  But three big kills by Black Hills State allowed the Yellow Jackets to take the set back and win 28-26.

The ThunderWolves dominated the third set, winning 25-15 as it out-hit the Yellow Jackets .385 to .062, but a Black Hills run in the fourth set gave the momentum to the Yellow Jackets.

Leading 7-4, the ThunderWolves gave up eight of 10 points to go down 12-9 and never recovered as Black Hills would win the fourth set 25-18 and dominate the deciding set 15-8.

The loss drops the Pack to 12-12 and 3-10 in RMAC play.  The loss is crucial as the ThunderWovles try for an RMAC playoff spot, as it four games out of eighth place with six games remaining on its schedule.
