LAS VEGAS, Nev. (GoThunderWolves.com - May 20, 2011) - Former CSU-Pueblo All-American Chase Vaughn continued to get one step closer to his dream of playing in the NFL, re-signing a contract with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League.
Vaughn, who played with the ThunderWolves from 2008-09, earning two first-team All-RMAC honors as well as All-American honors as a defensive end in 2008, signed with Las Vegas for the second time in his career. Last season, Vaughn signed a contract with the Jim Fassel-led Locomotives, but did not win a roster spot in camp.
He comes to the Locomotives after a successful half-season with the Loveland-based Colorado Ice of the Indoor Football league, where he accumulated 25 tackles, two sacks and an intereception as a defensive end and linebacker. He helped lead the Ice to a 9-1 record, the second-best mark in the 22-team league.
The UFL plays an eight-game schedule during the months of September and October. Las Vegas is the two-time defending UFL champion.
