ThunderWolves get first win at Mesa since 2007.
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 8, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo used one of its best defensive efforts in recent memory to cruise by Colorado Mesa on the road Saturday, winning 26-28, 25-17, 26-24, 25-20.
The most crucial set for the Pack was undoubtedly the third set, when the ThunderWolves rallied from a 23-21 deficit to pull out a 26-24 win. Stepping up down the stretch as the Pack pulled out five of the final six points were Alea Wildman (Sr., Denver, Colo.), who had two kills, and Angela McAdams (Jr., Jarrell, Tex.), who had a kill and a block.
Total, the ThunderWolves turned in 15 team blocks in the match, its most in a four-set match since 2006, and its most total blocks in any match since a 17.5-block effort in a five-set match against UC-Colorado Springs last season. Leading the charge was McAdams, who had eight total blocks, her best block output in her CSU-Pueblo career. She also added nine kills and his .250.
With the win, CSU-Pueblo kept itself in the RMAC Western Division championship conversation at 6-3 in RMAC play, a game behind Adams State for the division lead.
