Pack defense gives up 54 second half points to No. 3 Skyhawks.
PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Dec. 4, 2010) - After entertaining ideas of an upset of the nation's third-ranked team, Fort Lewis, CSU-Pueblo was purely victimized in the second half as they fell 82-53 to the Skyhawks.
After a first half that saw the ThunderWolves tied 28-28, things derailed in the second half. The game was a back-and-forth affair as late as the 11-minute mark of the second half, when Fort Lewis was leading 46-45.
But the Skyhawks embarked on a 27-4 run that buried the ThunderWolves, erasing any ideas of a second-straight come-from-behind win for CSU-Pueblo.
The Pack fell behind as they struggled shooting the ball, going a dismal 10% (2-20) from behind the arc and 32.1% (18-56) overall. Erica Hicks (So., Lakewood, Colo.) led the Pack, finishing the game with 22 points, going 9-for-22 from the field with a good, but not great, 40 percent shooting percentage.
CSU-Pueblo will remain at home, hosting Colorado School of Mines and Colorado Christian next weekend.
