ThunderWolves down Cowgirls in three.
LAS VEGAS, N.M. (GoThunderWolves.com - Oct. 9,
2010) - Led by a strong performance by the Pack front
line, CSU-Pueblo claimed a three-set win over New Mexico Highlands
Saturday night.
The win lifts the Pack's record to 6-10 overall and 2-7 in RMAC
play.
The Pack's front line quintet of Alea Wildman (Jr.,
Denver, Colo.), Gina Abbott (So., Salinas,
Calif.), Tamia Herholz (So., Colorado Springs,
Colo.), Ashley Wilkinson (Jr., Colorado Springs,
Colo.) and Bernadette Pitre (Jr., Clifton,
Colo.) combined to dominate the Cowgirls, registering a
total of 34 kills in the match. Leading the charge was
Wildman, who had ten kills and hit .250 against New Mexico
Highlands.
Defensively, the ThunderWolves were also solid, registering six
blocks and helping force the Cowgirls to commit 23 attack
errors.
CSU-Pueblo will get a five-day layover after this match,
returning home for its annual "Block Out Breast Cancer" night
Thursday vs. UC-Colorado Springs, the first match of a three-match
home stand next weekend.
