CSU-Pueblo 64 , Metro State 66
CSU-Pueblo had a chance to pull off a win in the final
possession Saturday vs. Metro State, but a late foul and a missed
three in the final seconds put the Pack on the short end, falling
66-64 to the Roadrunners.
The Roadrunners held the lead for most of the game and never
trailed but let the Thunderwolves stay in the game.
Chris
Busch (Sr., Oakland, Calif.) was fouled when he hit a
three pointer with 40.5 seconds to tie the game at 64-64. With the
game tied Busch then fouled Metro State player Brian Minor with
seven seconds left. The following possession the Thunderwolves
tried for a three-pointer but fell short, after a rebound the Pack
had one last chance with one second but could not get it as Minor's
two free throws proved to be the difference for the Roadrunners.
There were also some solid efforts by Kris Lawrie (Jr.,
Gardena, Calif.) who had a career high 11 points and
Roman
Van Allen (Sr., Los Angeles, Calif.) who tied his
career high of 20 points wasn't enough to stop the
Roadrunners. These efforts failed to help the Thunderwolves slow
down the Roadrunners who are on the verge of being Nationally
Ranked. This is the Thunderwolves 14th straight loss against Metro
State dating back to Feb. 1998.
The loss puts the Pack at 9-5 with a 4-3 record in RMAC Play.
The Thunderwolves will look to rebound from this loss at home next
weekend against Western Division rivals, Western State and Mesa
State.
