CSU-Pueblo 73, Regis 45
After a close win last Saturday, the Pack cruised to a win
Friday night at Massari Arena against the visiting Regis University
Lady Rangers 73-45.
Both teams entering Friday night's game at 8-5. The Lady Rangers
scored first Friday night and the Thunderwolves found themselves
down 4-to-nothing early in the game. But an early 3-pointer by
Amanda
Bartlett (Jr., Kiowa, Colo.) got the Pack
started. Bartlett's three-pointer to start the game was the first
of five straight five 3-pointers and took the lead with 14:39 left
in the first half and didn't look back as they had a comfortable 18
point lead to close out the first half.
The Pack continued their streak as they started the second half
on a 14-2 run and continued to build their lead, at one point
leading by 30. Rachel Espinoza
(Jr., Pueblo, Colo.) led the Pack with 17 points
while Kendall Babler (So.,
Rifle, Colo.) added 14 points while grabbing a career
high 3 steals.
This win is the first for the Thunderwolves over Regis since
2003 and the first win over Regis for head Coach Kip Drown in his 5
years at CSU-Pueblo.
With the win CSU-Pueblo improved to 9-5 overall and 5-1 in RMAC
play. CSU-Pueblo will host Metro State Saturday night at 6pm. in
Massari Arena.
