Adams State 3, CSU-Pueblo 1
ALAMOSA, Colo. - CSU-Pueblo had trouble keeping up with a tough
Adams State team Tuesday night, falling three sets to one to the
Grizzlies.
The ThunderWolves fall to 4-9 and 2-3 in RMAC play with the loss.
Adams State improves to 7-5 overall and 4-1 in RMAC play.
The Pack had trouble getting balls past a tough Adams State front
line, which recorded 14 blocks on the ThunderWolves throughout the
match. The Pack had little answers for Adams State, losing the
first two sets 25-15 and 25-14.
In the third set, CSU-Pueblo circled the wagons and took complete
control, jumping out to a 10-5 lead to start the set. The team was
at its best behind the service of Melissa Jones (Jr.,
Longmont, Colo.), scoring 10 of the set's 25 points and
recording five kills, including three by Brittney Hanley
(So., Vancouver, Wash.). Most importantly, the
ThunderWolves committed just six attack errors in the set, avoiding
a problem that was prevalent for the rest of the match, committing
31 attack errors throughout the match.
The ThunderWolves will return home Friday to take on NAIA Johnson
& Wales before returning to conference play against Mesa State
Saturday.
