Division II Women's Basketball Regional Rankings (Feb.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - After getting shut out of the NCAA Division
II Central Region women's basketball rankings in 2008-09, despite
consistently boasting one of the top win totals in the RMAC, the
Pack were recognized in the latest regional rankings released by
the NCAA Wednesday.
CSU-Pueblo came in at 10th in the Central region, joining fellow
RMAC schools Fort Lewis (2), Nebraska-Kearney (7), and Colorado
Mines (9). Of those three teams, CSU-Pueblo has defeated two
(UNK and Mines) this season.
The NCAA regional rankings help to determine which teams will
get NCAA Division II national tournament bids. The Central
Region earns eight bids to the national tournament, with the
conference champions from the region's two conferences, the Rocky
Mountain Athletic Conference and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate
Conference, earning automatic bids regardless of their regional
standing.
Last season, CSU-Pueblo earned the RMAC's automatic bid after
winning the RMAC Championship.
