Pack survives scare from Highlands

CSU-Pueblo 73, New Mexico Highlands 67

There's always something risky about playing a winless team with nothing to lose, and CSU-Pueblo nearly found that out first hand, surviving a few threats by New Mexico Highlands in winning 73-67 Tuesday.

The ThunderWolves only trailed for a few mere moments during the beginning of the game, but had trouble putting Highlands away, only leading by ten points or more on three occasions.  New Mexico Highlands had lost all of their RMAC games so far this season by 10 points or more before Tuesday night.

The Pack was led by consistent shooting, especially from the long range, sinking 47 percent of their shots.  Leading the charge was Amanda Bartlett (So., Kiowa, Colo.), who led all scorers with 18 points, earning the start at the post for the ThunderWolves.  Rachel Espinoza (So., Pueblo, Colo.) also added 17 points.

The ThunderWolves will return to the hardwood Thursday when it hosts Western New Mexico at Massari Arena.
