Metro State 3, CSU-Pueblo 0
By Simone Peinkofer
The Thunderwolves tried hard to seek their first win over Metro
State Roadrunners since 1999, but in the end they lost in three
sets.
"Yesterday it was emotional high [in the Pack's near win vs.
Regis], tonight it was a letdown," said Pack head coach Chris
Jonson.
Both teams played at a very high-level during the first set.
They showed good moves, especially very strong attacks that made it
even harder for one of the team to take the leadership. After a
score of 12-11 for the Roadrunners, they took their chance and
got on a run to a score of 20-11. In the end the T-Wolves lost the
first set 25-18.
In the second set the T-Wolves tried hard to stay in the game.
Both teams showed a lot of effort and tried to, but the T-Wolves
always stayed one step behind the Roadrunners. The Thunderwolves
showed too many inaccuracies in their flow of the game. The
Roadrunners took the leadership to 18-13, and finally won the
second set 25-18.
The T-Wolves found back in the game in the third set, and stayed
close with the Roadrunners. The set was tied 19-19,
and the T-Wolves took it over and nearly pulled off the win.
But Metro State was able to pull off the 26-24 win.
CSU-Pueblo will try to get a "W" Tuesday when it hosts Adams
State at Massari Arena.
