Tom Miller

Tom Miller will be entering his fourth season asCSU-Pueblo's special teams coach.

Prior to CSU-Pueblo, Miller had been akey assistant at the United States Air Force Academy underthen-head football coach, Fisher DeBerry, for 23 years. Prior toDeBerry's retirement following the 2006 season, Miller was thespecial teams coordinator for the Falcons. He had also served inother capacities with the Falcons, including as coach of strongsafeties, outside linebackers, and as defensive line coach, wherehe coached perhaps the most decorated football alum the universityhad ever had, former NFL player and Outland Trophy recipient, ChadHennings. While on the Falcons' staff, Miller was on the coachingstaff for 12 bowl games. He was also once nominated for AssistantCoach of the Year.

Miller is a 1969 graduate of CortlandState where he earned his bachelor's degree in physical education.He later earned a master's in physical education in 1972 fromBridgeport. While at Cortland State, Miller lettered in footballthree years. He also lettered one year in track. 

Miller began his coaching career atGlens Falls High School in 1969, helping the team to an 8-2 record.In 1970, he moved to Ravena High School and helped the team to a17-2 mark. Miller's collegiate career began at Bridgeport in 1972when he served as a defensive line and offensive line coach. Duringhis time at Bridgeport, a Division II school, the school went totwo bowl games. He was later named to the Bridgeport Hall ofFame.

In 1974, he went to Davidson Collegewhere he coached until 1982. While at Davidson, Miller coached theoffensive line, defensive ends and defensive line. Miller coachedat The Citadel in 1982 for one year before moving to Dartmouth.

At the Air Force Academy, Miller'steams had been among the nation's best at blocking kicks. In 1997,the Falcons set a school record with 11 blocked kicks. The teamblocked 59 kicks in the 1990s, the second- most in the nation.

He has two sons, Bo and Michael, andone daughter, Emily.
