Sammi Siggelkow joined the Colorado State University Pueblo Sports Medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer for the 2026-27 academic year, beginning her duties on July 1, 2026.
Siggelkow comes to CSU Pueblo after serving the previous two years (2024-26) as an assistant athletic trainer at Adams State University in nearby Alamosa, Colo. While with the Grizzlies, she served as the primary athletic trainer for the football program while also providing comprehensive sports medicine coverage for men's wrestling, women's basketball, and softball. Her responsibilities included injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, return-to-play progression, emergency medical response, and coordination of care with team physicians. She also supervised and mentored sports medicine work-study students.
No stranger to ThunderWolf Athletics, Siggelkow previously completed an immersive clinical rotation with CSU Pueblo Athletics while pursuing her graduate degree. During her time with the Pack, she worked alongside the ThunderWolves' sports medicine staff, gaining valuable experience in the day-to-day care of NCAA Division II student-athletes.
In addition to her clinical experience at CSU Pueblo, Siggelkow completed athletic training rotations with Minnesota State University, Mankato's football, baseball, and cross country/track and field programs, Bethany Lutheran College Athletics, Mankato West High School, and the Mankato MoonDogs of the Northwoods League.
A native of St. Anthony, Minn., Siggelkow earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato in December 2021, graduating cum laude with a 3.7 GPA. She went on to receive her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Minnesota State in May 2024. During her undergraduate studies, she also completed coursework abroad at the University of South Australia.
Siggelkow is certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) as a Certified Athletic Trainer and holds certifications in CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid through the American Red Cross, SALT Triage, and Mental Health First Aid.
