Paul Browning

Former CSU Pueblo wide receiver Paul Browning is entering his second season and first as a full time assistant football coach working with the ThunderWolves' receivers. Browning worked with the Pack receivers as a volunteer assistant during the 2024 season.

Coach BrowningBrowning is no stranger to the Pack football program as he was a member of the school's 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship team. In his four-year career with the Pack (2011-14), he played in 43 games and set school records for receiving yards (2,507), receptions (152) and receiving touchdowns (14). Was a two-time All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection as he earned third team honors in 2011 and first team accolades in 2013. 

As a senior in 2014, Browning, who prepped at Widefield High School, played in eight games and was second on the team in receptions with 41 for 636 yards and tied for the team lead with six receiving touchdowns during the team's national championship campaign. During his junior year in 2013, earned First-Team All-RMAC honors after playing in 12 games and leading the team with then single-season school records for receptions (59), receiving yards (1,155) and receiving touchdowns (11).  

In 2012, Browning played in 12 games and led the Pack with an average of 17.6 yards per reception as he caught 28 passes for 494 yards and three touchdowns and as a redshirt freshman in 2011, he earned Third-Team All-RMAC honors after playing in 11 games and catching 24 passes for 222 yards and a team-leading four touchdown receptions. He redshirted as a freshman in 2010. 

After his collegiate playing career, Browning signed as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Cleveland Browns on May 11, 2015 and after being waived by the Browns in mid-June of that same year, Browning signed as a free agent with the Carolina Panthers and participated in training camp with Panther before being waived on Aug. 31, 2015. 

Following his stint with the Panthers, Browning played four seasons of Arena football with five different organizations. He began his Arena football career in 2016 with the Orlando Predators. In his one season with the Predators, he caught six passes for 39 yards and also recorded four tackles and forced a fumble. In 2017, he played with the Baltimore Brigade and caught 46 passes for 488 yards and had eight touchdown receptions and also tallied 10 tackles and two fumble recoveries. During the 2018 Arena season, he was on the practice squad for the Albany Empire and in 2019, he played with the Atlantic City Blackjacks and the Columbus Destroyers. With Columbus, he caught 29 passes for 349 yards and had seven touchdown catches. He also rushed the ball four times for 19 yards and tallied three tackles. 

After the completion of his football playing career, Browning became a personal trainer for professional athletes as he was the founder and head trainer for LionHeart PBRA and also was a Sports Vision Therapist for Impact Vision Therapy. 

Additionally, he also served as wide receivers coach at both Mesa Ridge and Mullen High Schools. 

Browning earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from CSU Pueblo in 2015.
