Colorado State University Pueblo has announced the hiring of Matthew Angeloni as an Assistant Director of Sports Performance, joining the ThunderWolves' Sport Performance staff before the beginning of the 2026 second semester. Angeloni will officially start at CSU Pueblo on January 2, 2026.
Angeloni brings more than 16 years of experience in athletic performance across the collegiate, high school, and private sectors, with a background rooted in evidence-based training, injury prevention, and holistic athlete development.
Most recently, Angeloni completed a comprehensive strength and conditioning mentorship at the United States Air Force Academy, where he assisted in coaching and supervising hundreds of collegiate student-athletes across multiple Olympic sports. During his time at the Air Force Academy, he gained hands-on experience in program design, performance monitoring, periodization, and applied coaching within a high-performance collegiate environment.
Before his work at the Air Force Academy, Angeloni served as Director of Sports Performance at Redline Athletics in Colorado Springs, where he held leadership roles at both the high school and clinical levels, including Director of Strength and Conditioning at Healcove Clinic in San Diego. His collegiate background also includes graduate assistantship and internship roles at Olivet Nazarene University, UC San Diego, and the University of Delaware, where he supported training programs across a broad range of sports.

Angeloni earned a Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotions with a concentration in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention from California University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, where he played football as a receiver from 2004-08. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
At CSU Pueblo, Angeloni will work with the women's basketball, volleyball, women's swimming and diving, women's soccer, women's golf, and softball programs as part of CSU Pueblo's Sport Performance department, supporting the university's mission of competitive excellence and comprehensive student-athlete development.
He and his wife, Jennifer, have two dogs, Kai and Kona.Â
