Jaren Borland joined the Pack as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach in the summer of 2018. Borland brings over three years of strength & conditioning coaching experience to CSU-Pueblo.
Most recently, Borland served a Sport Performance Coach at the Parisi Speed School of Colorado Sports Performance Center for the past year. Borland’s primary focus was on helping athletes of all ages increase their speed and agility.
Borland last worked in college athletics during the 2016-17 school year when he was a part of the strength & conditioning staff at the State University of New York at Buffalo. During his time with the Bulls, Borland worked with 110 D-I athletes on the Buffalo football team as an Assistant Strength Coach.
This was Borland’s second stint with the Bulls. He also worked as a Strength & Conditioning Assistant for the football team during the 2015 season.
In the summer of 2016, Borland gained his first professional experience in the state of Colorado when he worked for the prestigious National Strength & Conditioning Association in Colorado Springs. While working as an intern, Borland served as a Strength and Conditioning coach for a variety of sports. He focused on teaching proper lifting techniques to athletes ranging from age 10 to over 50 and even presented his proper lifting techniques to Taiwan’s National Authority on Sport.
Borland spend the early part of 2016 working as a Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. During his time with the Warhawks, Borland conducted daily team workouts for 13 men’s and women’s teams.
During his time as a student- athlete, Borland won two NCAA D-III National Championships in football. He competed for a Warhawk team that went 30-0 between 2010-2011 to claim those two NCAA National Championships. Borland finished second in the Wisconsin State Lifting Association’s Olympic Weight Competition in 2016. Â
