Greg Dillon

Already established as one of the top women's golf coaches inRocky Mountain Athletic Conference history, Greg Dillon is enteringhis fifth season as CSU-Pueblo's head women's golf coach.

Dillon, a three-time RMAC Coach of the Year recipient, literallytook the women's golf program from "worst to first," taking over alast place program in 2009 and systematically improving the programto conference champions and beyond.

His step-by-step process began in 2010 as the ThunderWolvesreported its first all-RMAC golfer in Rachel Means.  And hewas just getting started.

In 2011, CSU-Pueblo rose to 4th in the conference as RMACFreshman of the Year Michaela Breit became the program's first evergolfer to qualify individuall for the NCAA Division II SuperRegionals.  In recognition of his team's performance in2010-11, Dillon was named the RMAC Women's Golf Coach of theYear.

In year three, the "worst to first" journey was complete as theThunderWolves caught fire at the end of the season, winning theRocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship and qualifying as ateam to the NCAA Division II Super Regionals.  He again wasnamed the RMAC Coach of the Year.

By 2013, his team was winning nearly every tournament, barelymissing out on a second straight RMAC championship by finishingsecond to close the season, and qualifying its RMAC Golfer of theYear, Leina Kim, to the NCAA Division II National Championships asan individual, finishing in the top 40.

Dillon, the director of instruction at the Desert Hawk Golf Clubin Pueblo West, was a member of the ThunderWolves' golf team from1975-78 and helped lead the team to the 1978 Rocky MountainAthletic Conference championship when he was an all-RMAC selection,as well as two NCAA Division II tournament appearances (1976,1978). 

Since leaving CSU-Pueblo, Dillon has served as a golf pro in avariety of locations, including Pueblo West, New Port Ritchie, Fla.and Cheyenne, Wyo.  From 1991-2008, he was the head golf proand general manager of the Shadow Hills Golf Club in Canon City,and has spent the last year as the Director of Instruction at theDesert Hawk Golf Course in Pueblo West.  He has attained PGAclass A-1 certification and has received commendation from the PGAas a junior golf instructor.

Dillon and his wife, Janice, have two children: Tara and Hunter. The family resides in Canon City.
