Colorado State University Pueblo Head Men's Basketball Coach Zach Ruebesam has announced the addition of Ben Beauchamp as an assistant coach for the 2026-27 season.
Beauchamp joins the ThunderWolves after spending the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach at Jessup University. In his lone season with the Warriors, he helped guide the second-year NCAA Division II transitional program to a 15-13 overall record and a 12-10 mark in the PacWest Conference.
"I am thrilled to be coming back to my home state and joining the Pack," Beauchamp said. "Thank you to Dr. (Paul) Plinske, President (Dr.) Rhonda Epper and Coach Zach Ruebesam for this opportunity. My wife and I are excited to become part of the Pueblo community and help continue building this program the right way."
Prior to his time at Jessup, Beauchamp spent three seasons (2021-24) at Eastern Washington University. He began his tenure as Director of Player Development and Recruiting Coordinator before being promoted to assistant coach for the 2023-24 season.
"We are proud to welcome Ben to CSU Pueblo Men's Basketball," Ruebesam said. "Ben is one of the brightest young coaches in the country and brings a tremendous combination of RMAC and Division I experience to Pueblo. His playing experience, coaching knowledge, recruiting ability and passion for developing student-athletes will have an immediate impact on our program."
"Ben and I have known each other since our high school days in Colorado, and I have always respected the way he builds genuine relationships and invests in the success of those around him. Just as importantly, he is a first-class person who aligns perfectly with the culture we are building. We are excited to welcome Ben and his wife, Taylor, to Pueblo and can't wait to get to work together."
Before joining Eastern Washington, Beauchamp spent four seasons on the coaching staff at his alma mater, Western Colorado University. He served two years as a graduate assistant before being elevated to assistant coach, gaining extensive experience in recruiting, player development, scouting and program operations.
A former standout player, Beauchamp played professionally for CB Marbella in Spain following his collegiate career. During his time at Western Colorado, he appeared in 82 games and scored 1,334 career points while earning All-RMAC honors twice. As a senior, he garnered First Team All-RMAC recognition after leading the Mountaineers in scoring, assists, steals, three-pointers made and free throws made.
A native of Louisville, Colo., Beauchamp earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from Western Colorado University and later completed a Master of Arts in Sports Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
Beauchamp and his wife, Taylor, will relocate to Pueblo and join the ThunderWolf community. He officially began his duties at CSU Pueblo on June 16.
