Alea Stewart returned to her alma mater as an assistant volleyball coach in the summer of 2026, bringing more than 15 years of coaching, strength and conditioning, recruiting, and athlete development experience to the ThunderWolf volleyball program.
A former CSU Pueblo standout, Stewart has built an impressive coaching résumé spanning the youth, club, high school, collegiate, and professional levels. Throughout her career, she has developed athletes both on and off the court while earning a reputation as an accomplished coach, mentor, and strength and conditioning specialist.
Prior to returning to CSU Pueblo, Stewart served as head coach, recruiting coordinator, strength and conditioning coach, and social media and marketing director for FCA One Volleyball Club at The Diff. In that role, she directed player development, coordinated recruiting efforts, organized travel and scheduling, managed parent relations, and oversaw the club's strength and conditioning programs.
Stewart also spent more than six years as the director of strength and conditioning and administrative operations manager at Slammers North Baseball and Softball. There, she designed and implemented performance programs for high school, collegiate, and professional athletes while assisting with collegiate recruiting and overseeing day-to-day club operations.
Earlier in her career, Stewart served as assistant club director and head coach for Sporting Club Volleyball-Boulder, coached multiple age groups at Ballistic Volleyball Club, and spent nearly a decade with Impact Sports Performance, where she was the volleyball program coordinator, director, strength and conditioning coach, and skills instructor. During her time with Ballistic Volleyball Club, eight of the 10 athletes on one of her teams advanced to play collegiate volleyball.
Stewart's diverse background also includes educational leadership, having served as graduation coordinator and assistant to the vice principal at Lester Arnold High School in Commerce City, Colorado, where she worked closely with students to support academic achievement and graduation success.
As a student-athlete at CSU Pueblo from 2008-12, Stewart was a four-year starter for the ThunderWolves and helped establish the foundation of the program during her playing career. She graduated cum laude in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training, earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic honors, and served on the CSU Pueblo Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Stewart is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the Board of Certification (BOC), is USAV IMPACT Certified, and holds CPR/First Aid certification.
