Matt Munhall

Matt Munhall joins the Pack women’s soccer coaching staff in fall of 2020, bringing with him fourteen years of collegiate coaching and athletic department experience.

During Munhall’s coaching career, he has served as the head men’s soccer coach at NCAA D2 RMAC opponent, Adams State University for the 2019-20 season, before moving full time to Pueblo, CO.

Prior to Adams State, Coach Munhall spent seven years in Oregon as the head men’s soccer coach at Oregon Tech, competing in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) in the NAIA, from 2012-2019. At Oregon Tech, Munhall took the lowest performing program in the conference when he arrived in 2012 and turned them into a top conference team, making the CCC tournament and fighting for a bid at nationals the last three seasons that he was their head coach.
Munhall also served the athletic department and CCC in a number of other capacities during his stint at Oregon Tech. Among those roles, was serving as the Assistant Sports Information Director and a facilities liaison for a new turf soccer complex at Oregon Tech. He also served on the national ratings committee for the CCC.

Matt began his coaching career at his almamatre, Principia College, where he served as the goalkeeper coach for both the men’s and women’s soccer programs from 2008-2011. During those four seasons as an assistant, the women’s program won two SLIAC conference championships and made two NCAA national tournament appearances, while the men’s program held a NCAA D3 ranking of #10 in the nation.

In 2011, Coach Munhall completed his Masters in Sport Science Pedagogy from Ohio University to accompany his Bachelor's degree in Sports Management. His coaching education includes the completion of his National, Advanced National and Premiere coaching diplomas from the United Soccer Coaches, while also serving as a staff evaluator for the USC.

Outside of the college ranks, Coach has served as a club director at Basin United Soccer Club, while leading his boys U17 club team to the SOCL and Rogue Valley Cup championships at the same time. He has also led his New Hampshire girls U18 team to a NH State title and making the semifinal of the Region 1 tournament in 2012.

He currently works locally with Pueblo West Rush soccer Club, as he looks to link more and give back to the community.
