Colorado State University Pueblo head women's golf coach Tammy Lim has stepped down from her position effective immediately, Vice President of Athletics and Strategic Partnerships Dr. Paul Plinske announced Wednesday.

The decision was made following discussions between Coach Lim and the CSU Pueblo Athletics Department, with the resignation due to personal reasons.

"I would like to thank the student-athletes, Dr. Plinske, the CSU Pueblo Athletics staff, and the University for allowing me to serve as the women's golf coach for the past three-plus seasons," Lim said. "I wish the program nothing but success moving forward."

Lim led the ThunderWolves women's golf program to unprecedented heights over her three-plus seasons at the helm, guiding the Pack to three consecutive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Championships, three straight NCAA West Regional Championship appearances, and a sixth-place finish at the 2024 NCAA West Regional Championships. CSU Pueblo concluded the 2025-26 fall season ranked No. 17 nationally in the final NCAA Division II Mizuno Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Coaches Poll.

The three consecutive RMAC Tournament titles marked the first three-peat in conference history for women's golf.

During her tenure, Lim coached 12 All-RMAC selections, two RMAC Players of the Year, one RMAC Freshman of the Year, and a Second-Team All-American, while also earning RMAC Coach of the Year honors in 2024.

"We are grateful for Tammy's commitment to our student-athletes and the positive impact she has had on our women's golf program," Dr. Plinske said. "She is a valued colleague whom I have greatly admired. While this was a difficult decision for her, Tammy leaves our program and these outstanding student-athletes in a strong position. I wish her nothing but the best and hope she sees our future success as a reflection of the foundation she built as our head coach."

Dr. Plinske also announced that John Wristen, who currently serves as CSU Pueblo's Athletics Development and External Relations Officer, will add the role of interim head women's golf coach for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

Wristen began his CSU Pueblo tenure as the program's head football coach following its reestablishment in 2008 and retired from that position at the conclusion of the 2023 season. During his time leading the Pack football program, Wristen guided CSU Pueblo to the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship, seven RMAC titles, and eight NCAA Division II Playoff appearances. He earned six RMAC Coach of the Year honors, compiled a 131-36 overall record, and ranks eighth all-time in Division II history in winning percentage (.784).

"After in-depth conversations with our student-athletes, it became clear that John was the best option for the Pack moving forward," Dr. Plinske said. "He understands both the sport and the human psyche, and I could not be more excited to watch this group flourish under his guidance. While he will continue to wear many hats within our department, his leadership, perspective, and commitment to our student-athletes will be instrumental in advancing the program and building sustained success."

"I'm excited about helping this team grow," Wristen said. "I look forward to seeing us improve daily. I believe we have a chance to compete at a national level, and I welcome that challenge."

CSU Pueblo will conduct a national search for its next head women's golf coach at the conclusion of the current academic year.
