2014 Outdoor: Redshirt Season

2014 Indoor: Began her CSU-Pueblo track career in style setting two individual and three overall school records... Set the school-record of 10:58.89 in the 3K, finishing ninth at the RMAC Championships on Mar. 1... Had run the anchor leg (mile) on the school-record setting (12:53.50) DMR relay team that finished fourth at the RMAC Championships a day earlier (Feb. 28)... Set the school-record of 5:14.15 in the mile at the New Mexico Classic on Feb. 8... Also had a season-best time of 2:24.40 in the 800 meters at the Air Force Invitational (Jan. 23-25)... Competed in seven total meets.

Before CSU-Pueblo: Competed at Carroll College in Helena, Montana as a freshman throughout the 2012-13 academic year… Ran for current CSU-Pueblo Coach Matt Morris earning a total of four NAIA All-America certificates throughout the season.

2012-13 Indoor (At Carroll): Earned NAIA All-America honors in both the 3,000 meter and distance medley relay events… Posted a season-best time of 10:20.13 to take seventh in the 3,000… Ran the opening leg (1,200m) on the eighth place DMR team that posted a finals time of 12:14.91 after running a time of 12:12.94 in the prelims… Posted a season-best mile time of 5:09.76 to take second at the Bobcat Open (Montana State) on Feb. 15.

2012-13 Outdoor (At Carroll): Placed fifth in the 5,000 meters with a season-best time of 17:32.01 at the NAIA National Championships to earn her fourth all-America certificate… Also contested the 800 and 1,500 meters throughout the regular season posting best times of 2:24.86 and 4:41.94… Won the 5K at the Al Manuel Invitational in Missoula, Montana on Mar. 30…. Also a member of the Saints’ winning 4X400 and 4X800-meter relay teams at the Duane Hartman Invitational on Apr. 27 in Spokane, Wash.

Prep: Member of two state cross country and two state track & field championship teams at Mountain View High School… Ran for Coach Tracy Harris.

Academics: Is majoring in nursing… Graduated from Mountain View HS in 2013 with a 4.06 GPA… Was a National Honor Society Member.

Personal: Born Jan. 16, 1994 to Steve and Leslie Mathes… Younger brother’s name is Andrew.
