Colorado State University Pueblo Vice President for Athletics and Strategic Partnerships, Dr. Paul Plinske has announced the hiring of Ben Suchon as the new Softball Assistant Coach.

Suchon will join CSU Pueblo Head Coach Bianca Duran in leading the ThunderWolves softball program.

"I am excited for the hiring of Ben as part of my staff for the upcoming year," Duran said. "He brings knowledge and experience at t he collegiate level, a high passion for the game and a drive to grow student-athletes on and off the field."

Duran added, "I believe he will make an immediate impact on the program and will have a work ethic that'll be in line with the program as well."

Suchon started his coaching career in May 2008 for the Steven Point Legion baseball as the Assistant Varsity Coach and Head Junior Varsity Coach until September 2012. During that time, he scouted the Wisconsin High School area for the Chicago White Sox for ten years.

He also spent three years as the Youth Coordinator and Facility at the Nationally known Hitters Baseball Academy from January 2013 through September 2016.

Suchon worked for JP Sports out of the Quad Cities as their High School Event Coordinator and Head Scout from January 2018 through August 2018. Then in August 2018, Suchon earned the opportunity as the Assistant Softball Coach at Grinnell College (Iowa). He remained at Grinnell until May 2020.

Suchon next joined the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in September 2022 as the Softball Graduate Assistant. During his time at Parkside he worked with the hitters, outfielders and catchers.

Suchon is an alumni of UW Parkside as he graduated in the Fall of 2017 with his Bachelor's Degree. In December 2022, he earned his Master's Degree from the University of Missouri in Positive Coaching and Athletic Leadership.

Suchon began his duties on August 1, 2023.
