Colorado State University Pueblo men’s and women’s track and field and cross country head coach Matt Morris has announced the addition of Joshua Sanderlin as an assistant cross country and track and field coach for the ThunderWolves.
 
Sanderlin comes to CSU Pueblo after spending the 2023 track and field season as an assistant coach at Seton Hill University, an NCAA Division II school in Greensburg, Pa.
 
During his tenure at Seton Hill, Sanderlin was responsible for planning the training schedules for all the program’s distance runners and was the chief recruiter for the distance program.
 
Prior to working at Seton Hill, Sanderlin served as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. During his time at UAF, Sanderlin coached six All-GNAC athletes, six West Region runners, one GNAC Champion, one West Region Champion and one Division II All-American.
 
He got his start working in collegiate athletics for 10 months as an intern with the President’s Athletic Conference. In that position, he managed the league’s Twitter account, coordinator an assortment of PAC Sports Championships and coordinating and set-up of various PAC functions.
 
Sanderlin earned his bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Athletic Administration and Coaching Education from Bethany College in 2001. At Bethany, Sanderlin competed in both cross country and track and field.
 
He is currently working on completing his MBA from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and has USATF Level 1 and Level 2 coaching certification. His level two certification is in distance training. He is also CPR and AED certified.
