PUEBLO, Colo. (May 15, 2026) - Following one of the most successful seasons in program history, three members of the CSU Pueblo Softball team have been recognized with National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region honors.
Senior pitcher
McKenna James (Windsor, Colo.) and senior outfielder
Caitlyn Cole (Merced, Calif.) were both selected to the NFCA All-South Central Region First Team, while senior infielder
Madelyn Huerta (Azusa, Calif.) earned second team recognition.
The trio helped guide the ThunderWolves to a historic 2026 campaign that included the program's first RMAC Tournament Championship since 2001, a 40-win season and the program's third NCAA Tournament appearance.
James continued her standout career for the Pack after also earning RMAC All-Academic First Team honors earlier this postseason. The RMAC Pitcher of the Year is one of the offensive leaders for CSU Pueblo throughout the year, she played a key role in the middle of the lineup while providing consistency defensively.
Cole continues to shine as one of the top outfielders in the region. A force both offensively and defensively, she delivered timely hitting throughout the season.
Huerta capped off an impressive regular season by earning second team all-region honors after serving as one of the team's most reliable contributors. Her veteran leadership and production were instrumental in CSU Pueblo's championship season.
The NFCA All-Region teams are voted on by member coaches from each respective region and recognize the top performers across NCAA Division II softball. First team selections advance to the ballot for NFCA All-American consideration.
