BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf put together a strong opening statement at the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships, taking control of the leaderboard after round one at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
The ThunderWolves fired a 1-under 287 on day one, positioning themselves firmly in first place as they chase a fourth consecutive RMAC title. CSU Pueblo holds a five-stroke advantage over second-place Colorado Mesa and leads Colorado Christian by six strokes heading into Monday's second round.
The Pack was powered by a pair of standout performances at the top of the leaderboard. Freshman Thale Victoria Estensen continued her breakout season with a 2-under 70, while Swedish standout Lisa Ekberg matched her with a 2-under 70 of her own. The duo is tied for first individually after 18 holes, giving CSU Pueblo a strong one-two punch early in the tournament.
Ekberg's round was particularly impressive on the back nine, where she surged with an eagle on the par-5 13th hole. That highlight fueled a 3-under 33 coming in, showcasing the senior's poise and ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities in key moments.
Senior captain Freya Constable delivered another steady round for the ThunderWolves, carding a 1-over 73. She closed strong with a 35 on her back nine, helping stabilize the lineup and keep CSU Pueblo in front. Yale Lee added a solid 2-over 74, keeping the Pack's scoring consistent across the board.
In her postseason debut, Sinead Ni Cheilleachair posted a 5-over 77, while Olivia Heard rounded out the scoring with a 6-over 78.
With a balanced lineup and two players atop the individual standings, CSU Pueblo finds itself in a familiar position—leading the RMAC Championships with momentum on its side.
The ThunderWolves will look to maintain that edge on moving day, with round two set for a 9 a.m. shotgun start due to expected high winds in the Las Vegas area.
