LAS VEGAS, N.M. (March 27, 2026) – The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team returns to Rawlings Softball Complex this week for one of their biggest Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tests of the season, hosting Colorado Mesa in a pivotal four-game series.
The series will begin with a doubleheader Thursday at Noon and will conclude the weekend with two more games Friday at 11 a.m.
SETTING THE STAGE
The weekend will feature a concession special of $2 beers with proper I.D. for all games.
The Pack (23-11, 19-5 RMAC) are back in action after they earned their second consecutive sweep last week over New Mexico Highlands
For her efforts in the circle, Eva Miller-Sanchez (Fr., Denver, Colo.) earned her first RMAC Pitcher of the Week accolade after she posted a 0.62 ERA over 11.1 innings of work. Her performance was highlighted by a shutdown effort in the series finale, where she was called on in relief and provided four scoreless innings while striking out five batters to shut the door on a Highlands comeback attempt.
Throughout the weekend, she held the Cowgirls to a meager .162 batting average and finished with a total of 11 strikeouts.
Caitlyn Cole (Sr., Merced, Calif.) led the offensive attack and posted a staggering .700 average, collecting 7 hits in 10 at-bats while slugging 1.500. She recorded four extra-base hits, including two home runs and two doubles, while driving in eight and scoring 7 herself and walked four times.
McKenna James (Sr., Windsor, Colo.) had another strong week and went 2-0 in the circle and ended with six strikeouts.

Last season, CSU Pueblo went 1-3 on the road at Colorado Mesa.

Colorado Mesa Mavericks (18-14, 17-7 RMAC)
Last time on the field: CMU lost 3-of-4 games at home against UCCS. The Mavericks are led offensively by Brynn Escobar with a .346 average. In the circle, the Mavericks are guided by Sophia Tassinari (10-7, 2.52 ERA).
