Howery, Adam and Sweetwine Named CSC Academic All-District Basketball Selections

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Colorado State University Pueblo placed three student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District Men's and Women's Basketball Team.

The Pack student-athletes named were men's basketball senior guard Sam Howery (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy), men's basketball redshirt sophomore forward Ty Adam (Severance, Colo./Severance), and women's basketball senior guard Genesis Sweetwine (Aurora, Colo./Northeastern JC).

All three of those student-athletes earn their first career CSC Academic All-District honors.

To be eligible for selection for the 2025-26 school year, student-athletes must have a 3.50 or higher cumulative GPA. They must have also played in at least 90 percent of their teams' games or must start in at least 66 percent of their teams' games. In addition, transfers are now eligible, and schools were limited to a total of four nominations per sport (men's basketball and women's basketball) for All-District honors.

Howery earns his first CSC Academic All-District accolade after carrying a 3.99 cumulative grade point average in Marketing. During the 2025-26 season, Howery saw action in all 30 games and made 17 starts and averaged 3.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game and led the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.10). He was second on the team in assists (90) and was third in steals (30). He scored in double figures in two games this season and three times in his career, including tallying a career-high 11 points this season at Adams State. This season, he had four or more assists in 10 games, including back-to-back career-high seven-assist games against Adams State and Fort Lewis. In his time with the Pack, he played in 97 career games and made 23 starts, scored 263 points, pulled down 161 rebounds, dished out 191 assists, collected 70 steals, and blocked four shots. He posted a career assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.32 as he had 191 assists and 82 turnovers. 

Adam earns his first CSC Academic All-District accolade after carrying a 3.77 cumulative GPA in Business Management. During the 2025-26 season, Adam averaged 5.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game and shot 51.3 percent from the field, 33 percent from the 3-point line, and 73.3 percent at the free throw line. He also recorded seven blocks, eight steals, and 13 assists. He scored in double figures in seven games, including a career-high 14 points at home against UCCS, and had 10 games with four or more rebounds, including a career-high eight rebounds at Adams State.

Howery and Adam were named to the RMAC Men's Basketball All-Academic Honor Roll, while Howery was a three-peat selection to the RMAC Men's Basketball All-Academic First Team.

Sweetwine earns her first career CSC Academic All-District accolade after carrying a 3.82 cumulative grade point average in Exercise Science. During the 2025-26 season, Sweetwine started all 29 games for the Pack and averaged 9.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. She led the Pack in assists with 127 and was second in the league in assists per game (4.5) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.8). Sweetwine scored in double figures in 15 games, including a career-high 22 points in the season opener against Nebraska-Kearney, and tallied her first career double-double of 15 points and a career-high 11 assists in a home win over UCCS. Dished out four or more assists in 14 games, including five games with eight or more assists. She was third on the team in made treys with 40 and shot 39 percent from the field, 35 percent from the 3-point line, and 82 percent from the free throw line.

Along with earning CSC Academic All-District honors, Sweetwine was also named to the RMAC Women's Basketball All-Academic First Team.
