PUEBLO, Colo. (February 8, 2026) - The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team wrapped up the Southern Colorado Crossover on Sunday morning with an 11-2 loss to Pittsburg State at Rawlings Softball Complex.
The ThunderWolves struck first in the bottom of the opening inning.
Caitlyn Cole (Sr., Merced, Calif.) reached on a bunt single and used her speed to swipe both second and third base before coming home on a sacrifice fly from
McKenna James (Sr., Windsor, Colo.) to give CSU Pueblo an early 1-0 lead.
Pittsburg State answered with two runs in the second inning and added single tallies in the third and fourth frames to build a 5-1 advantage. The Gorillas continued to apply pressure offensively, scoring twice in the fifth and four more runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
CSU Pueblo added its second run in the bottom of the fifth.
Darleen Falcon (Sr., Moreno Valley, Calif.) led off the inning with a double to left center and later scored on a sacrifice bunt by
Belah Hrouda (Fr., St. Paul, Minn.), trimming the deficit to 7-2 at the time.
Falcon finished the game 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, while
Gissel Morales-Cermeno (Fr., Houston, Tex.) went 2-for-3 at the plate. Cole also reached base and scored, adding two stolen bases in the contest.

Kayli Cooper (So., North Battleford, Saskatchawan, Canada), James and
Jaylah Rivera (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) combined to pitch for the ThunderWolves and allowed 15 hits in the game.
