GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (February 5, 2026) - The Colorado State University Pueblo wrestling team dropped a 31-9 decision on the road Wednesday night at No. 22 Colorado Mesa, facing one of the top-ranked squads in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference inside Brownson Arena.
The ThunderWolves picked up three individual victories on the night, highlighted by strong performances from
Eddie Bowman (So., Trinidad, Colo.),
Deacon Pickett (Fr., Las Vegas, Nev.) and
Solomon Arnds-Volcin (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.).
At 141 pounds, Bowman earned CSU Pueblo's first points in the dual with a hard-fought 7-2 decision over Apollo Cruz, showcasing control and timely scoring across all three periods.
Pickett followed with another solid outing at 165 pounds, securing an 11-4 decision against William Alvarado. Pickett used stead offensive pressure and consistent mat work to keep the ThunderWolves within striking distance midway through the dual.
At 174 pounds, Arnds-Volcin delivered a gritty performance, edging Christian Pebley by a 3-1 decision to account for CSU Pueblo's final points of the night.
CMU controlled the dual overall, earning bonus points at multiple weights, including falls at 125, 149, and 197 pounds, along with a pair of tech falls.
The ThunderWolves will look to bounce back as they continue conference action on the road Friday at No. 22 Mines. The dual gets underway at 6 p.m. in Golden.
