Pack Sweeps Season Series from Mines for First Time Since 1985-86 Season

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo men's basketball team used a dominant second-half shooting performance to erase a halftime deficit and defeat Colorado School of Mines, 70-63, Saturday afternoon in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action inside Lockridge Arena.

Saturday's victory extended the Pack's win streak to six straight games as they improved 19-7 overall and 13-5 in the RMAC, while Mines fell to 14-15 overall and 10-8 in the RMAC. The win helped the Pack sweep the season series against the Orediggers since the 1985-86 season.

The 19 wins this season are the most for the Pack since posting a 19-9 record during the 2016-17 season. The Pack also closed the regular season with an 8-5 road record.

CSU Pueblo shot a blistering 68.4 percent from the field in the second half (13-of-19) to outscore the Orediggers 45-35 over the final 20 minutes and secure its first win in Golden since earning an 83-79 win in 2017-18.

After trailing 28-25 at the break, the ThunderWolves opened the second half on a 9-2 run, highlighted by a three-pointer from sophomore guard Mac Terry (Castle Pines, Colo./South Dakota Mines) and back-to-back baskets from sophomore guard/forward Jordan Blair (Keller, Texas/Keller Central), to take a 34-28 lead with 17:24 remaining.

The Pack pushed its advantage to as many as 10 points midway through the half and led for more than 21 minutes overall in the contest.

Redshirt junior Jaden Kennis (Windsor, Colo./MSU Denver) led all scorers with 20 points, shooting 6-for-10 from the field and 6-for-7 from the free throw line, including going 6-for-6 at the line in the final 64 seconds, while adding six rebounds and three assists off the bench. Terry finished with 13 points as he knocked down three shots from beyond the ace and Blair added 11 points and a team-high four assists.

Junior forward Kyren Allen (Commerce City, Colo./Trinidad State) chipped in nine points, five rebounds and three blocks for the Pack, who shot 54.8 percent (23-of-42) from the floor for the game and connected on seven three-pointers as they shot 44 percent (7-for-16) from long distance in the contest.

Mines was paced by Alex Romack's 15 points, while Shelton Henton added 17 points on five made 3-pointers, including hitting three straight treys to pull the Orediggers within 65-61 with 52.8 seconds left. Jonathan Moore added 13 points and six boards for Mines.
