ThunderWolves Open RMAC Play at Home This Week Against Chadron State

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 20, 2026) – The Colorado State University Pueblo softball team will begin Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) play this week with a four game series at home against Chadron State College, with a twin bill starting Saturday at 12 p.m. at Rawlings Softball Complex. 

The Pack (4-6) open conference play after finishing a nonconference schedule where the ThunderWolves competed at the CUI Kickoff Classic hosted by Concordia Irvine, followed by CSU Pueblo hosting the Southern Colorado Crossover, along with UCCS.

At the UCI Kickoff, CSU Pueblo defeated Chico State for their first win of the season and won against Biola in extras.

In their home opening weekend, the ThunderWolves beat Texas A&M-Kingsville in another extra-inning game and Minnesota Crookston on day two.

Senior Caitlyn Cole (Merced, Calif.) leads the team offensively with a .371 average and has 13 hits this season.

Freshman Reese Reimler (Champlin, Minn.) has started her collegiate career on a high note and is hitting .357 with a team-high five doubles.

In the circle, McKenna James (Sr., Windsor, Colo.) has made six appearances and holds a 2-3 record. Jaylah Rivera (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Kayli Cooper (Jr., North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada) each have earned their first wins in a Pack uniform during nonconference play.

SETTING THE STAGE

Last season CSU Pueblo won three-of-four games at home against the Eagles.

Chadron State College Eagles (0-9)

            Last time on the field: Chadron State has lost the first nine games to start with season and have faced formidable opponents to start. The Eagles faced No. 1 UT-Tyler and No. 13 Angelo State during their nonconference schedule. The Eagles are led offensively by Elia DeLozier with a .529 average. In the circle the Eagles are guided by a trio of pitchers including Brynn Trujillo (0-2, 4.91 ERA), Belle Akins (0-3. 9.75 ERA) and McKenna Sides (0-4, 14.85 ERA).
