PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team came up just short Sunday afternoon, falling 1-0 to Colorado Christian University in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

The loss moves the ThunderWolves to 3-6-2 overall and 1-3-1 in RMAC play, while Colorado Christian improves to 2-6-4 overall and 1-4-1 in conference action.

CSU Pueblo finished the contest with nine shots, including six during the opening 45 minutes. The Cougars held a narrow 10-9 advantage in total shots, while both teams put two attempts on frame. Each side also earned two corner kicks.

The Pack generated the first scoring opportunity of the match when Abby Menk fired a shot just over the crossbar in the third minute. Colorado Christian goalkeeper Kenzie Kunitz and CSU Pueblo's Peppi Niemi kept the match scoreless through the early stages before the Cougars broke through late in the first half.

Following a CCU corner kick, Jordyn Rollins found the back of the net in the 38th minute off an assist from Faith Gaudy to put the Cougars ahead 1-0. The goal proved to be the lone score of the afternoon.

CSU Pueblo responded by creating several chances before halftime. Nadia Bailey and Maya Bethelmie each registered attempts shortly after the goal, while Bethelmie added another shot in the 40th minute and Solange Depirou produced an opportunity in the closing minutes of the half. The ThunderWolves finished the opening period with a 6-5 edge in shots.

The Pack continued searching for the equalizer after the break. Baylie Reedy put an attempt on target in the 58th minute, but Kunitz made the save to preserve Colorado Christian's one-goal advantage.

CSU Pueblo continued to apply pressure down the stretch, earning a corner in the 80th minute before Menk sent an ensuing attempt wide. The ThunderWolves were unable to find the tying goal as the Cougars held on for the 1-0 decision.

Reedy, Bethelmie and Menk paced the Pack attack with two shots apiece, with Reedy placing one on goal. Kenna Snyder recorded CSU Pueblo's other shot on target. Niemi played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with one save.
