COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Oct. 11, 2026) – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback against the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) on Sunday afternoon in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) action at Mountain Lion Stadium.

With the loss, the ThunderWolves fall to 3-8-2 overall and 1-5-1 in RMAC play, while the Mountain Lions improve to 9-3-2 overall and 5-2-1 in conference action.

UCCS wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as Brooke Pavlich found the back of the net just 3:40 into the contest off an assist from Taylynn Levi to give the Mountain Lions an early 1-0 advantage.

The ThunderWolves faced an additional challenge in the 13th minute when Caytlynn Garland was issued a red card, forcing the Pack to play the remainder of the match with 10 players. On the ensuing penalty kick, CSU Pueblo goalkeeper Peppi Niemi came up with a crucial save against Levi to keep the deficit at one.

Despite playing a player down, Niemi continued to stand tall in goal for the ThunderWolves, recording eight saves during the opening 45 minutes.

UCCS eventually doubled its advantage in the 34th minute when Abby Stassi scored her sixth goal of the season off assists from Casey Tadlock and Pavlich, sending the Mountain Lions into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

The Mountain Lions controlled possession throughout the opening half, outshooting CSU Pueblo 23-0 while holding a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Coming out of the halftime break, the ThunderWolves made a change in goal as Ella Bulfer replaced Niemi.

UCCS extended its lead to 3-0 just 4:32 into the second half when Elise Broberg scored her third goal of the season in the 50th minute.

The Pack registered its lone shot of the afternoon in the 60th minute when Faith Moa sent an attempt wide of the left post.

Bulfer helped keep the Mountain Lions off the scoreboard for the remainder of the match, recording five saves during her 45 minutes of action.

For the contest, UCCS held a 36-1 advantage in total shots, including a 17-0 edge in shots on goal. The Mountain Lions also finished with five corner kicks, while the ThunderWolves did not register a corner.

Niemi and Bulfer combined for 13 saves in the setback, with Niemi collecting eight in the first half and Bulfer adding five in the second half.

Pavlich led the Mountain Lions offensively with a goal and an assist, while Stassi and Broberg each added a goal. UCCS goalkeeper Lilliana Brinkmeier earned the shutout without needing to record a save.
