Myers, Bowman Deliver Statement Wins in Loss to No. 1 Central Oklahoma

PUEBLO, Colo. (January 25, 2026) – The CSU Pueblo wrestling team battled the nation's top-ranked program Sunday afternoon but ultimately fell 36-6 to No. 1 Central Oklahoma at Massari Arena.

Despite the team result, the ThunderWolves turned in a pair of marquee performances against elite competition.

At 133 pounds, No. 11 Jacob Myers (Fr., Castle Rock, Colo.) delivered one of the biggest wins of the day, knocking off top-ranked Jason Henschel in sudden victory. In sudden victory. Myers scored a takedown in SV-1 to secure a 7-4 decision, earning three team points and handing Henschel his first loss of the season.

CSU Pueblo picked up its second win at 141 pounds, where No. 13 Eddie Bowman (So., Trinidad, Colo.) continued his strong season with a hard-fought 7-6 decision over Josh Taylor, who entered the dual ranked eighth nationally. Bowman controlled key scrambles late to close out the victory.

Central Oklahoma captured the remaining bouts, including bonus-point wins at 125, 149, 157, 174 and 197 pounds, to build separation on the scoreboard. The Bronchos also earned narrow decisions at 165, 184 and 285 pounds to seal the dual.

T he ThunderWolves will look to build on the momentum from Myers' and Bowman's performances as they continue RMAC competition later this week and will face Western Colorado on Thursday starting at 6 p.m. at Massari Arena.
