PUEBLO, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo men's basketball never trailed and put together a wire-to-wire performance here Saturday afternoon as the ThunderWolves rolled past Regis University 82-57 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action at Massari Arena.
With the victory, the Pack extended its win streak to five straight games and improved its record to 12-4 overall and 6-2 in the RMAC, while Regis fell to 1-13 overall and 0-7 in the league. The win, coupled with 15th-ranked Black Hills State's loss at home on Saturday to Fort Lewis, moved the Pack into a three-way tie with Black Hills and Colorado Mesa for second place in the RMAC standings.
Saturday's game completed a three-game home stand for the Pack, as they improved to 8-2 at home. The Pack has now won four straight games at home since suffering a 62-60 loss to Western Colorado on Dec. 6. Additionally, the Pack remains undefeated in the 2026 calendar year.
CSU Pueblo set the tone early as they raced out to a 10-0 lead just three-plus minutes into the contest and built a commanding 44-27 advantage by halftime. The ThunderWolves shot 54.3 percent from the field in the first half and limited Regis to 34.5 percent shooting from the field and 25 percent shooting from the 3-point line before the break.
In the second half, Regis got as close as 10 points just five minutes into the second half as the Rangers opened the half on a 9-2 run to pull within 46-36. The Pack, though, responded as they used a 24-13 run to push out to a 70-49 lead with 6:05 left in the game. After Regis pulled within 70-51 with 5:46 left, the Pack scored 12 of the next 13 points to push its lead to 30 points following a trey from freshman guard Bryce Riehl (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mesa Ridge) with 2:33 remaining.
The Pack's depth proved decisive, as the CSU Pueblo bench outscored Regis, 43-7, on the afternoon. Eight different Pack players scored at least six points in the win as sophomore guard/forward Jordan Blair (Keller, Texas/Keller Central) led the way with 15 points and six rebounds in 21 minutes of action. Redshirt junior guard Jaden Kennis (Windsor, Colo./MSU Denver) added 14 points, six rebounds, and two blocks, while junior guard Dylan Sanders (Aurora, Colo./Pearl River CC) chipped in 15 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field, including making three treys off the bench in the win.
Riehl tallied 11 points off the bench on 4-for-6 shooting from the field, including hitting three treys, while junior guard Cash Callaway (Pasco, Wash./South Mountain CC) was 3-for-5 from the 3-point line and scored nine points off the bench.
For the game, the Pack shot 53.3 percent from the field and was 12-for-32 (37.5 percent) from the 3-point line, while also winning the rebounding battle, 38-26, including collecting 11 offensive boards that led to 11 second-chance points. The Pack also controlled the paint with a 38-24 edge and converted 11 fast break points.
The Pack also had 24 assists on 32 made baskets as Callaway led the way with five. The Pack, though, lost the turnover battle (10-9) and blocked five shots.
Regis was led by Luke Soden, who scored a game-high 17 points, while Dylan Forbord added 13 points and Cooper Frith had nine points for the Rangers, who are coached by former NBA player and University of Kansas Jayhawk guard Rex Walters. Walters' son, Gunner, had a game-high seven assists in the setback.
The Pack will look to continue its hot play next week on the road as they open a four-game road swing on Thursday, Jan. 22, with a 7:30 p.m. game in Alamosa, Colo., against Adams State (10-6 overall, 4-4 RMAC), before playing on Saturday, Jan. 24 in Las Vegas, N.M., against New Mexico Highlands. The Pack collected a 70-57 home win over the Cowboys in a non-conference game to open the 2026 calendar year on Jan. 3.
