Broomfield, Colo. — The three-time defending Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf team picked up right where they left off, seizing the lead after the opening round of the Swan Memorial, hosted by Colorado Christian University at Broadlands Golf Club.
Facing a loaded field that includes eight RMAC opponents and three strong South Central Region foes—Bellevue, Angelo State, and Cal State Los Angeles—the Pack set the tone early in their 2025-26 debut.
Balanced Attack Leads the Way
Junior newcomer Olivia Heard made an immediate impact, firing a steady one-over 73, matched by returning All-Conference standout Lisa Ekberg, as the duo paced CSU Pueblo at the top of the leaderboard.
Just behind, veteran Freya Constable, a consistent All-RMAC performer, carded a two-over 74, while sophomore Yale Lee, one of last season's breakout freshmen, added a three-over 75. Freshman Thale Victoria Estensen, competing in her first collegiate round, showed poise with a matching 75 to round out the scoring lineup.
Two Pack individuals also gained valuable tournament experience: freshman Payton Connelly shot an 81, while Sinead Ni Cheilleachair finished with an 84.
ThunderWolves Out Front
At the close of Round One, the ThunderWolves sit atop the team leaderboard at seven-over par, holding a four-stroke advantage over both Cal State Los Angeles and host Colorado Christian, who are tied for second at 11-over par.
Looking Ahead
With five players clustered within just four strokes of par, the ThunderWolves displayed the depth and consistency that has become their hallmark under head coach Tammy Lim.
The Pack return to action tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. in the Denver Metro area, aiming to secure a season-opening victory and continue their dominance in the RMAC and South Central Region.
