COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 23, 2025) - Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer junior goalkeeper
Esteban Gonzalez (Brussels, Belgium) has been named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the week after continuing his dominant start to the season and keeping his record spotless in net.
Gonzalez was again a brick wall for the No. 3 ranked ThunderWolves, who went 1-0-1 on their Pacific Northwest road trip against Western Oregon and Saint Martin's. In 135 minutes of action, Gonzalez made four saves on 11 shots faced and turned in one of the top moments of the early season when he stopped a penalty kick and then immediately saved the rebound attempt in the 29th minute at WOU.
Through six matches, Gonzalez has yet to allow a goal, leading the nation in goals-against average (0.00). His four shutouts are tied for the most in NCAA Division II, and he stands as one of just two goalkeepers in the country with zero goals conceded this season. What sets Gonzalez apart is his workload - he has played over 225 minutes than USC Aiken's Sean Simoncelli, the only other keeper with a perfect defensive record.
The ThunderWolves lead the nation in GAA and, after the weekend, moved to No. 1 in NCAA Division II in save percentage.
Up next, No. 3 CSU Pueblo returns home to begin a four-game homestand, starting Thursday against Regis at 5 p.m. at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
