PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo Football enters Saturday's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference home game at the ThunderBowl with Adams State ranked No. 12 once again in both of this week's latest AFCA Division II Coaches' and D2Football.com polls that were released Monday.
In this week's fourth weekly national Division II football polls of the season, the ThunderWolves, who are 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in the RMAC after earning a 31-24 win this past Saturday at Colorado Mesa, remained ranked No. 12 in the latest AFCA Division II Coaches' Poll presented by Hudl and also remained ranked No. 12 in the latest D2Football.com Media Top 25 Poll.
The Pack received 400 points in this week's AFCA Coaches' Poll to sit five points in front of No. 13 West Alabama (4-0) and 73 points behind No. 11 UT-Permian Basin (3-0).
The Pack are one of four Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schools either ranked or receiving votes in the latest AFCA poll and one of two league schools ranked in the D2Football.com poll. Besides the Pack in the AFCA poll, Western Colorado (3-0) remained ranked No. 7 following its 45-6 road win last week at Adams State, while Colorado School of Mines (2-1), who lost 34-28 at home to Chadron State last Saturday and New Mexico Highlands (3-0), who earned a 48-42 overtime home win over South Dakota Mines, were two of the 19 teams to earn votes this week as they received 60. In the D2Football.com poll, Western Colorado remained ranked No. 5 this week.
In this week's latest polls, the Top 18 in the AFCA poll and the Top 16 in the D2Football.com remain the same from last week as Ferris State (4-0) continues to sit atop both polls as they earned 775 points and all 31 first place votes in the AFCA poll. Harding (3-0) remains at No. 2, while West Florida (4-0) is at No. 3, Slippery Rock (3-0) is at No. 4 and Kutztown (3-0) rounds out the Top 5.
Meanwhile, in the D2Football.com poll, Harding remains at No. 2, while Kutztown (Pa.) is at No. 3, West Florida is at No. 4 and Western Colorado rounds out the Top 5 at No. 5 this week.
CSU Pueblo will look to improve to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the RMAC this coming Saturday, Sept. 27 as the ThunderWolves host Adams State for a 2:05 p.m. RMAC game in the ThunderBowl. The Pack has won 18 straight RMAC games dating to the 2023 season, which is currently the longest active conference win streak in Division II football.
