MONMOUTH, Ore. (Sept. 17, 2025) - The No. 3 ranked Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team continues its unbeaten start to the 2025 season with a two-game West Coast trip this week. The ThunderWolves (2-0-2) open the swing Thursday at Western before closing out the weekend Saturday against Saint Martin's. Both contests will be played WOU Soccer Field.Â
About the ThunderWolves
CSU Pueblo went unbeaten (1-0-1) last week and is fresh off a 2-0 home victory over Dominican (CA), securing its fourth clean sheet to begin the season. The Pack's defense, anchored by RMAC Defensive Player of the Week Leonardo Vilchis (Gr., Mexico City, Mexico) and Goalkeeper of the Week Esteban Gonzalez (Jr., Brussels, Belgium), has not conceded a goal in 360 minutes of action. Gonzalez owns a perfect 1.000 save percentage with 12 stops in three appearances, while fellow keeper Tristan Whitlock (R-Sr., Lincoln, Neb.) also owns a shutout.
On the attack, Matty Parkes (So., Newcastle, England) leads the ThunderWolves with two goals, while Nick Cenek (Gr., Peoria, Ill.) and Aran Garza (R-So., Tempe, Ariz.) have added one apiece. CSU Pueblo has outshot opponents 44-34 and holds a 5-0 goal advantage through four games.
Scouting Western Oregon
Western Oregon (3-1-0) enters Thursday's match on a three-game winning streak, including back-to-back neutral site victories over Colorado Mesa (2-0) and Westminster (1-0). The Wolves are averaging 1.50 goals per games while allowing just 0.50. Forward Alex Grignon leads the side with three goals and two assists, while Abraham Villalobos has added two goals.
Defensively, WOU has been stout with a .882 save percentage and two shutouts. Goalkeepers Justin Stewart and Austin Valdez have combined for 15 saves and just two goals allowed across four games.
Scouting Saint Martin's
Saint Martin's (0-4-0) continues to search for its first win of the season after setbacks against Westmont, Hawai'i Pacific, Chico State, and Stanislaus State. The Saints have been outscored 13-2 in four matches, with Cole Sullivan and Jonathan Wright netting the team's two goals.
Goalkeeper Connor Leistiko has faced heavy pressure, making 17 saves while posting a .567 save percentage. SMU is averaging 7.8 shots per game while conceding 16.8 to opponents.

Following the trip, CSU Pueblo returns home to begin a four-match homestand starting Thursday, Sept. 25 against RMAC rival Regis at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
