Sheridan, Wyo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf team continued its scorching start to the 2025 season, capturing their second straight tournament title with a commanding 30-shot victory at the Travis Roy Memorial in Sheridan, Wyoming. Competing at Powderhorn Golf Club, the ThunderWolves posted team rounds of 289 and 291 to finish at just four-over par for the week. Their dominant performance left the rest of the field far behind, with Texas A&M International finishing second at 34-over par.
Powderhorn Golf Club, a private 27-hole Dick Bailey design managed by Troon Golf, provided a stunning stage for the victory. Nestled in the western Rocky Mountains, the course embraces a casual western style and gave the Pack a true test of championship-caliber golf.
Freshman sensation Thale Victoria Estensen of Norway led the way in spectacular fashion, claiming her first collegiate individual title. Estenson fired consecutive rounds of 70 to finish at four-under par and set the tone for CSU Pueblo's runaway performance.
She was joined in the top five by two more standouts: sophomore Englishwoman Yale Lee, who carded rounds of 72-71 to finish one-under, and team captain Freya Constable of Scotland, who placed fifth at two-over with scores of 71-75.
All five ThunderWolves golfers placed inside the top 15. United Kingdom transfer Olivia Heard continued to find her footing with the Pack, placing 13th after rounds of 77-75. Meanwhile, Sweden's Lisa Ekberg closed out the team's scoring in a tie for 14th with rounds of 76-77.
With two straight tournament wins under their belt—following last week's triumph in Denver—the three-time reigning RMAC champions now get a few weeks to recharge. The Pack will return to action on October 13–14 when they host the NCAA West Regional Preview at their home course, Pueblo Country Club.
