PUEBLO, Colo. (September 10, 2025) – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team returns home for the first time this season and will face-off against Angelo State on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
The ThunderWolves are fresh off a 1-1-1 start to begin the season after tying Texas Permian Basin in the season opener and getting their first win in Saturday's 2-0 win at Sul Ross State. The Pack suffered their first loss, 4-1 at Lubbock Christian on Saturday.
Thursday in the season opener, the Pack outshot UTPB and recorded four corners against just one for the home team.
Saturday against Sul Ross, Abby Menk (Jr., Delano, Minn.) and Caytlynn Garland (Jr., Gillette, Wyo.) netted a goal in each half to propel the ThunderWolves to their second clean sheet of the young season.
In Monday's final match of the road trip at Lubbock Christian, CSU Pueblo allowed three goals in the first half and avoided the shutout with a goal in the 89th minute off the foot of newcomer Kenna Snyder (Fr., Edmond, Okla.) who found the back of the net for the first time in her career.
At the net, Alva Hellenius (Fr., Stockholm, Sweden) and Miya Begay (Fr., West Valley City, Utah) have both seen action. Begay earned her first win for the Pack on Saturday and has made three saves and allowed one goal. Hellenius has started in both matches and has nine saves while allowing three goals.
In Sight for the Pack
The ThunderWolves will have a full week of rest and recovery before returning to the pitch Thursday, Sept. 18 against Cal Poly Humboldt at 7 p.m. under the lights at Gonzales Stadium. The homestand continues next week when Cal Poly Humboldt and Emporia State but come to the Steel City for a pair of nonconference matches.
