INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's golf team continues to build on its recent success, officially qualifying for the NCAA Division II postseason for the third consecutive year. As announced by the NCAA on Monday afternoon, the ThunderWolves have earned the 11th seed in the highly competitive West Regional.
Led by head coach Tammy Lim, CSU Pueblo will head to Amarillo, Texas, to compete at Tascosa Golf Club's La Paloma course from May 5–7. The West Regional features 18 teams and six individual qualifiers, with all participants playing 54 holes of stroke play. The top five teams, along with the top two individuals not on advancing teams, will move on to the NCAA Division II National Championship, scheduled for May 13–17 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
The ThunderWolves enter the postseason on a high note, having claimed their third straight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championship title on April 22, also at Boulder Creek Golf Club. CSU Pueblo captured the championship in comeback fashion, posting rounds of 293, 296, and 295 to secure the win. Fifth-year senior and first-year ThunderWolf Alyssa McMillen led the way during the RMAC tournament, providing a steady presence for the team.
For the West Regional, CSU Pueblo's lineup will feature McMillen, Freya Constable, Lisa Ekberg, Zoey Rodriguez, and Yale Lee.
They will face a significant test at La Paloma, a links-style course unique to the Texas Panhandle, known for its dramatic elevation changes, natural rock outcroppings, native rough, and several lakes. The course is expected to play at over 6,200 yards, offering a demanding setup for all competitors.
Dallas Baptist University, the 2023 national champions and winner of the Lone Star Conference, earned the No. 1 seed in the West Region and will be among the favorites in the field.
As the ThunderWolves prepare for another shot at national prominence, their postseason experience and momentum from the RMAC Championship position them well for a strong showing in Amarillo.
