INDIANAPOLIS (March 10, 2025) - Colorado State University Pueblo wrestling freshman Eddie Bowman (Trinidad, Colo.) qualified for his first trip to nationals and will represent CSU Pueblo this week at the 2025 National Championships held at Corteva Coliseum.

The Region XI second place finisher, Bowman earned his spot on the big stage after finishing 2-1 at the NCAA West Super Region XI held in Gunnison.

How It Happened
Bowman's day started after receiving a first round bye and in the second round, he faced Jakob Romero from Adams State and scored two take downs and an escape point to earn a 7-3 decision.

In his semifinal match against Chadron State's James Davis, both wrestlers earned escape points before the match went into overtime. In the SV-1, Bowman earned a three-point take down to secure his spot in the 1st place match and a trip to nationals.

In the first place match against Kearney's Hector Serratos, Bowman fell by a 4-2 decision.

Journey Ahead
The brackets for each of the ten weight classes were released last week. Bowman enters the week with a 20-8 record and will face No. 5 James Anderson from Ouachita Baptist, who comes in with an 18-4 mark.

Also on Bowman's side of the bracket, is fellow RMAC wrestler Jakob Romero from Adams State who will face-off against Jeremiah Echeverria from Gannon in a first round match.

Region XI winner Serratos from UNK, will battle against Thierno Diallo from Frostburg State.
